Why I chose Jess Morgan
For this topic I thought it was necessary to research one photographer who works heavily with people and their family. I feel that possessions can also mean responsibility and as people have a responsibility over their possessions and therefore can link to people and their children. Also I think people and possessions can also show people and their relationships and it is a undefined by an object and is an emotional possession which people hold. Jess Morgan is a very inspiring photograph due to the way she displays people emotions towards their family members within her images.
Evaluations
The two images above are displayed within a diptych. I think this is an interesting way to show the little girls and potentially a favorite item. The focus on the slippers would suggest these are important to her. Children often have security blankets/ soft toys which they keep on them and find comfort in having them on them, these slippers could be this girls security blanket. I think this image demonstrated how people have certain possessions which they link to particular times within the day and fell the need to have them with them at his time. For example this girl wishes to have her slippers with her before she goes to sleep and wear them when she wakes up. This shows the attachment many people have to certain possessions which value to the individual however maybe not to others.

The background used within this image helps to add colour and texture to the piece and provide an interesting background compared to what a studio shoot would. In my opinion two relationships are displayed within this image, one between a owner and their pet and another between two siblings. I like how the playful and gentle friendship between the animal and children is represented within this piece.
